Abiogenesis (written, directed and produced by Richard Mans) will screen as an "honourable mention" as part of the Oscar Nominated Short Films 2013 presentation. While not nominated, Abiogenesis is to screen in theatres throughout the US, Canada and Europe in the feature-length Oscar presentation, and will have a limited theatrical release in other countries.
"The Special Jury Prize went to Richard Mans for his incredible technical achievements on the beautifully polished CGI film ‘Abiogenesis’."
Over 16,500 people attended this year’s Maui Film Festival at Wailea and voted on their favorite films. "The quality of 2012 Maui Film Festival Audience Award recipients is indicative of the excellence of so many of the films submitted to the festival this year," said Barry Rivers, Festival Director, "congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to showcasing their work in the years to come.”
